Information we collect
When you use Thruness, we collect the following categories of information.
Account information. When you create a rider profile, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in via a third party authentication provider, we receive the basic profile information that service shares with us.
Horse profile information. Details you choose to record about the horses you ride, including name and any notes you add.
Ride data. GPS location data recorded during rides, route traces, ride duration, pace, distance, start and end times, and the activity type you tag for each ride.
Device information. Device model, operating system version, app version, and basic diagnostic information needed to keep the App working.
Feedback you send us. If you submit feedback, report a bug, or contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
We do not collect payment information during the beta. The App is free to use for beta testers.
How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes.
To provide the App's core functionality, including recording your rides, storing your ride history, and showing you your data.
To communicate with you about the beta, including sending product updates, asking for feedback, and notifying you of important changes.
To improve the App, including identifying bugs, understanding which features are used, and shaping the product based on how beta testers ride.
To meet our legal obligations, including responding to lawful requests from authorities where required.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases.
Contract. Processing your ride data and account information is necessary to deliver the App you have signed up to use.
Legitimate interests. We rely on legitimate interests for app improvement, diagnostics, and contacting beta testers about the product. You can object to this processing at any time.
Consent. Where required, we ask for your explicit consent, for example before accessing your device's location services.
Location data
Thruness uses your device's GPS to track your rides. Location is only recorded when a ride is active. You can stop location tracking at any time by ending a ride or by revoking location permissions in your device settings. Location data is stored against your ride history to show you where you rode.
How we store and protect your information
Your information is stored on secure servers hosted within Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United Kingdom and European Union. We apply industry standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as you have an active Thruness account. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records for legal reasons.
Beta testing data may be retained in anonymised form after the beta period ends to help us understand how the App performed and improve future versions.
Third parties
We use a small number of trusted third party services to operate the App. These currently include:
Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage.
Apple TestFlight for beta distribution and crash reporting.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights.
The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
The right to correct information that is inaccurate.
The right to ask us to delete your information.
The right to ask us to restrict or stop processing your information.
The right to data portability, meaning you can ask for your information in a transferable format.
